Rubber and polymer.
The workshop the other three lines depend on — and a business of its own.
We stopped buying soles, and everything else got easier.
Bringing compounding, moulding and tooling in-house was the most expensive decision this company has made, and the reason we can promise a date and keep it.
It also turned into a business of its own. A good part of what this workshop makes leaves as components for other people's factories.
Four things.
Compounding
We mix our own rubber. Hardness, colour and wear are set per programme and written down, so a repeat order matches the original.
Moulding
Compression, injection and vulcanising, in single and dual density, for soles, unit soles and moulded parts.
Direct injection
The sole injected straight onto the lasted upper. There is no bond line, so there is nothing to come apart.
Tool room
We cut, polish and maintain our own moulds. A correction takes days here rather than weeks somewhere else.
No bond line means nothing to come apart.
The mould is yours.
It belongs to you from the moment it is paid for. We store it, maintain it and use it for no other customer. If you leave, it goes with you.
That is not generosity. A buyer who feels locked in negotiates differently, and we would rather compete on the shoe.
Need soles rather than shoes?
Send a drawing or a sample and we will make the tooling and the units.
